In a remarkable show of support for education, the International Dialogue for Environmental Action (IDEA) launched its extension building construction program today at Olmagutian Primary School in Narok County. The initiative, aimed at expanding the school to meet the needs of its growing student population, is already well underway with the construction of two new classrooms.
Deputy Headteacher Philip Ntaiya took the
opportunity to thank IDEA for their invaluable contribution. "We are truly
grateful to IDEA for their generosity and commitment to the development of our
school," he said. "The ongoing construction of two new classrooms is
a much-needed step in improving our school environment and we look forward to
the positive changes to our students."
Headteacher Rael Naisawa also expressed her
appreciation, acknowledging the critical role IDEA has played in supporting the
school. "We are deeply thankful for the support we have received from
IDEA. The addition of these two classrooms will make a significant difference,
but as the school continues to grow, we urgently need more classrooms to
accommodate our students. Currently, we have about 400 children and we have
been struggling with overcrowding, especially in the preschool and primary
school sections," she said.
Naisawa appealed to IDEA to continue their efforts, urging the organization to help the school expand further. "As our student population increases, so does our need for additional classrooms. We hope that IDEA will continue to partner with us in building a brighter future for our children. These new classrooms will help ensure that all students have a safe and comfortable space to learn," she added.
The extension project is a vital step toward
meeting the school’s growing needs. The new classrooms are expected to ease
overcrowding and provide much-needed space for the children to learn and
thrive. The school, which has long struggled with a lack of adequate
facilities, is now on track to offer a better educational experience for its
students, thanks to IDEA’s commitment to sustainable development and education.
IDEA’s ongoing support is not only helping to
improve the physical infrastructure but is also investing in the future of the
students, empowering them with a more conducive learning environment. As
Olmagutian Primary School continues to expand, the partnership with IDEA stands
as a beacon of hope for a brighter, more sustainable future in education.
