Unbeaten Breetons Face Dikirr Test

Breetons Hospital FC continues to dominate the Lower Rift Regional League 2024/2025 Zone B1 with an unbeaten run, and tomorrow, they look to make it a perfect 10 when they face Dikirr Township in Narok. Currently sitting atop the table with 25 points from 9 matches, Breetons have been nothing short of clinical, boasting 8 wins and a draw, with an impressive goal difference of +14 (19 goals scored and just 5 conceded). Their consistent form has placed them six points clear of second-placed Chepchabas FC, highlighting their superiority this season. Tomorrow’s match against Dikirr Township, who sit fifth with 15 points, could further cement Breetons' position as title favorites. Although Dikirr are a capable side, with five wins under their belt, their inferior goal difference (-2) and recent dip in form suggest they will have their hands full against the league leaders. Breetons’ balance in attack and defense has been unmatched in the division, and a victory on the road would n...

Mara Sugar Advance to FKF Cup Round of 16 as AFC Leopards Disqualified Over Fan Misconduct

Mara Sugar FC has officially advanced to the Round of 16 in the FKF Cup after the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Appeals Committee upheld an earlier decision to disqualify AFC Leopards from the tournament. The decision stems from an incident during a Round of 32 match at Kisumu's Mambo Leo Stadium, which was abandoned in the 89th minute after unrest broke out following the reversal of a penalty decision initially awarded to AFC Leopards. The score was tied 0-0 at the time. The FKF’s Leagues and Competitions Committee (LCC) had initially ruled that the abandonment was caused by a pitch invasion involving AFC Leopards supporters. Citing Article 6.4(iv) of the Mozzart Bet Cup Regulations and Article 3.5.6 of the FKF Rules and Regulations, the committee awarded the match to Mara Sugar and issued a formal warning to AFC Leopards. According to FKF rules, clubs are held accountable for the behavior of their supporters, and any match abandoned due to fan misconduct results in forf...

Kenya’s Indoor Hopes Crushed with No Medals Won in China

Kenya’s struggles in indoor athletics were once again exposed as the national team left the World Indoor Championships in Nanjing, China, without a single medal. The country’s final hope, Susan Ejore, fell short in the women’s 1500m, finishing fifth with a time of 4:03.89, a result that summed up Kenya’s disappointing campaign. Ethiopia dominated the event, with Gudaf Tsegay setting a championship record of 3:54.86 to take gold, while Diribe Welteji (3:59.30) secured silver. Great Britain’s Georgia Hunter Bell claimed bronze in a personal best time of 3:59.84, further proving that the gap between Kenya and top indoor runners continues to widen. Ejore’s failure meant Kenya ended the competition empty-handed after a disastrous penultimate day. Cornelius Kemboi, the African Games 5000m bronze medalist, finished eighth in the men’s 3000m, despite running a personal best of 7:49.00. In the women’s 3000m, 2019 World Mountain Running champion Purity Gitonga also finished eighth, clocking 8:44...
